2.3.3 Installing OSI for Python on Linux

*Prerequisites

You have installed everything described in Section 2.3.1, "Installing protobuf for static / dynamic linking".
You have installed pip3.
You have installed python-setuptools.
For a local installation, you have installed virtualenv.

Steps

Clone the Open Simulation repository.

git clone https://github.com/OpenSimulationInterface/open-simulation-interface.git

Switch to the repository directory.
```
cd open-simulation-interface
```
Create a new virtual environment.
```
virtualenv -p python3 venv
```
Activate the virtual environment.
```
source venv/bin/activate
```
Install Open Simulation Interface.
1. Local installation
  python3 -m pip install .
2. Global installation
  sudo pip3 install .
